Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
Key Aspects of KAP: The Process: Involves preparation sessions, guided medicine sessions with a therapist, and integration sessions to process insights. Mechanism: Ketamine acts on the brain's glutamate system, helping to "unstick" negative thought patterns and fostering new neural connections. Benefits: Rapid-acting mood enhancement and increased receptivity to psychotherapy. Context: It is distinct from other uses of the acronym, such as the Kansas Assessment Program (standardized testing) or Kundalini Activation Process (energy work). Journey Clinical KAP is considered a safe, legal, and effective approach, often used when traditional treatments are ineffective.

I have only seen Ira for a couple of months but from the very first session he has been kind, understanding, and helpful. In such a short time I feel free to tell him anything, no matter how hard it is for me to express. He is blunt and right to the point. He doesn't shy away from asking the hard questions that get to the heart of the problem. He does so in such a supportive and kind way. Just what I need. I have tried many therapists over the years and I have never found one like Ira. I am forever grateful for his continuous support and help. I fully recommend him to anyone with issues he is specialized in. Thank you for everything Ira and I look forward to our future sessions and with your help becoming the strong person I know I am and I know you see. Thank you. ❤️

ra did an okay job in general as a therapist but failed to properly fill out paperwork correctly and refused to acknowledge mistakes when changes were needed. Responding to the need for changes with immediate, defensive agression. Ultimately addind significant detriment to my mental health.

Working with Ira over the last 3 years has been a life changing experience. I first walked through his doors hopeless, broken and desperate for change. He actively listened, never judged and provided endless support as I navigated my way to a healthier state of mind. Through his guidance, I have found my voice and discovered a new level of confidence that has accelerated both my personal and professional life. Thank you, Ira, for your kindness, compassion and all the laughs. As the world ebbs and flows, I am so grateful to have you in my corner.

Ira is sharp, insightful, technical, skilled with anger issues and autism. Ira is good at being direct and blunt with you, which is what I need. Ira will go out of his way to help you, and is really good at connecting the dots. He is very goal oriented. His style might not be for everyone, but he is exactly what I need right now.

I have known Ira for many years now (2009). I first started going to him when I was at one of the darkest places in my life. With the unfortunate event of an insurance change I needed to find a new therapist. I continued with my other until he retired 5 or so years ago. I knew exactly who I was going to go back to if he was still taking patients, and that was Ira. He welcomed me back, and we worked hard through many other of my life problems. I can honestly say that no matter what, he's always been there for me. I've sat in his office and cried, and I've had in his office and laughed so hard. I can 100% tell him anything, and as a female patient, it's a great feeling when you can tell someone some of your deepest secrets, and know that you won't be judged for it. Knowing that he will be there, to help me every step of the way. I can say that one of the biggest things that I'm proud of with my progress with him is that I now know how to say "no", especially when it comes to me overworking myself. I truly would not be the woman I am today without him pushing me to always strive to better myself, whether it's mentally or in my professional life. I can tell me wants to see me succeed and do great things in life. And for that, I'm eternally grateful. 🙏❤️5

Ira BILOFSKY is an extremely knowledgeable and compassionate therapist. I went to him for help with my struggles with OCD and Anxiety. He was incredibly helpful and has a great deal of knowledge and experience working with patients with Anxiety and OCD. I’ve been to several therapists in the past that were supposed to be “experts” in OCD, but clearly were not! Ira BILOFSKY was able to inform me of so much more about OCD than my past therapists because of his in- depth knowledge and experience with OCD and Anxiety! I strongly recommend Ira BILOFSKY to anyone in need of an extremely knowledgeable and competent therapist!

If it weren’t for Dr. Bilofsky (Doc) I don’t know where I’d be today! I’ve been a faithful patient every single week since May 2019. My entire world was shattered on 4/22/19 when my son Shaheed was murdered. My heart was broken into a million pieces and I didn’t know what to do. I thought for sure I would lose my mind and wouldn’t make it. This is the absolute worst pain any parent can endure. I knew I had to get myself some immediate help and this is when I discovered Dr. Ira L. Bilofsky. He’s been nothing but a blessing and my savior every single step of my grief journey and me finding my new normal. And I can assure you that it hasn’t been easy, at all!! I thank God every single day for placing Doc in my life. Doc has given me all the tools I need to keep fighting on my most darkest days when I couldn’t even get out of bed (and I had a lot of those days) and feel I may not make it. He’s been an ear when all I wanted to do was cry and vent, he’s provided me with ways to see things other than my ways, he’s always available, and most importantly he’s been my advocate when I couldn’t even advocate for myself. I’ve had one of the most horrific/traumatic experiences in my life and if it wasn’t for God, Doc and constant prayer I can honestly say I don’t know what would’ve happen to me. Thanks a trillion Doc for being so respectful, showing so much compassion and being very empathetic to my feelings and situation. You’re the absolute best and I’m eternally grateful.
